General FAQs

For bookings through E-mail/Phone/Walk-in procedures, made in advance or on the spot, we accept payment either through cash or direct deposit to our bank account through online bank account transfer or direct deposit to our bank account in person or through cheque or Demand Draft (Credit Cards are not accepted for E-mail/Phone/Walk-in bookings). Please email us to know the details of the bank transfer information.

For payment options of Internet Room Bookings (i.e., bookings made by Guests directly themselves online on our website http://pemathang.net), please refer to the separate FAQs section on the Internet Room Booking (Credit Cards are indeed accepted for Internet bookings, because Internet Room Booking payments are required to be made through the PayUBiz or PayUMoney gateways on our website http://pemathang.net and these two Gateways accept Credit Cards too, along with many other payment options).
Cancellation of a confirmed booking can be done only through e-mailing any of our official email IDs: booking@pemathang.net (or) pemathangguesthouse@gmail.com; or in person at the Reception Desk of Pema Thang Guest House, by producing the Identity Proof. If request for cancellation (or partial cancellation i.e., reduction of numbers of rooms or period of stay) is received from the guest, group leader or agency 15 days or more prior to the check-in date, 80% of deposit can be refunded. If received on or within 14 days prior to the check-in date, no refund can be made. Refund of the amount would be in the same mode as in which the payment was made for the booking.
In case of premature departure, 50% of the Room Tariff for each cancelled day and room, would be forfeited by the guest. Requests for premature departure need to be made in person at the Reception Desk of Pema Thang Guest House, by producing the Identity Proof. Refund of the amount would be in the same mode as in which the payment was made for the booking.
Identity Proof for Domestic/India-based Guests: A Government-issued Identity Document (PAN Card or Passport or Driving License etc) in original, for every single guest in the booking, is needed at the time of check-in.

Identity Proof for International Guests: A Government-issued Passport and Visa in original, for each and every guest in the booking, is needed at the time of check-in.
The price of the accommodation/Room Tariff, includes the following: electricity, linen, cleaning, hot water. Meals are not included in the room tariff.
A maximum of two children below 8 years are allowed complimentary stay in the room with the parents.

Extra adult person or extra child

The rate for an extra person (adult or child) staying in the room will be 25% of the room tariff. However, only one extra person is allowed in double bed rooms.
In consideration to other guests, you are requested not to bring pets.
Check-in could vary between 12.00 to 15.00 hours.

Check-out time is 12 noon (Occupying the room beyond this time is considered an extra day).

To make it quicker for our Guests to make Room Bookings with us and to send the Deposit Advance Amount to us in a quicker and easier manner, we have introduced the Internet Room Booking.

Through Internet Room Booking, you can view the availability of room(s), choose room(s), and pay instantly online, and receive immediate email confirmation. A small Convenience Fee for using the Payment Gateway, is additional to the room tariff.
To confirm the internet room booking, 100% of the tariff for the entire days is requested as a booking deposit (for each room in case of booking more than one), at the same time as when the booking is done on the internet.
When the Internet Room(s) Booking is being done, the Deposit Amount needs to be paid through the Payment Gateway on the pemathang.net website.
A Payment Gateway charges a small percentate of the Transaction Value for its services. This charge is known as the Payment Gateway usage Surcharge (or Transaction Surcharge or Transaction Charge or the Convenience Fee); and this amount is additional to the Transaction Value (or Transaction Amount). The Payment Gateway webpage clearly indicates the two separate amounts: (a) the Transaction Value and (b) the Surcharge or the Convenience Fee.

The Convenience Fee (Transaction Surcharge) is a small amount, and is a percentage of the total booking deposit advance amount.

The Transaction Value is the Booking Deposit Amount.
The guests are requested to pay the Convenience Fee/Payment Gateway usage Surcharge. This Convenience Fee amount is in addition to the Booking Deposit Amount, and needs to be paid at the time of using the Payment Gateway.
Yes, finally.

It is available to Guests who wish to use either International Credit or Debit Cards, or India-based bank accounts/cards, to make online payment through the Payment Gateway on the pemathang.net website.
The Internet Room Booking is immediately confirmed because the deposit payment is requested to be made at the time of the Internet Booking itself, through the Payment Gateway on our website.
Following a successful payment through the Payment Gateway on the website pemathang.net, the Guest would instantly receive an Email Confirmation voucher. This voucher is the confirmation for the Internet Room Booking, and this voucher needs to be shown at the Reception Desk at the time of Check-in (either the soft copy, or the hard copy/printout of the voucher).
Cancellation of a confirmed booking can be done only through e-mailing any of our official email IDs: booking@pemathang.net (or) pemathangguesthouse@gmail.com; or in person at the Reception Desk of Pema Thang Guest House, by producing the Identity Proof.

Information about the extra adult person or extra child, is not requested during the internet booking. This information needs to be provided at the time of Check-in, and the suitable payment, if any, needs to be done in cash or using a Debit Card or a Credit Card or Online Account Transfer to our bank account, at the time of Check-in.

We have currently enabled two Payment Gateway options: the PayUBiz Payment Gateway and the PayUMoney Payment Gateway, for Internet Bookings which are done through our website pemathang.net.

Both the Payment Gateways are from the internationally reputed Naspers group.

Both the Payment Gateways provide options for making online payments using either the Net Banking or Debit Cards or Credit Cards.
Please choose PayUBiz option because this Gateway accepts International Cards (both International Credit Cards as well as International Debit Cards are accepted).
By understanding the Surcharge/Convenience Fee details, and the possibility to use your preferred means of payment via a specific Payment Gateway, you can make a decision of which option to choose, for making the payment.
Please use India-based Debit Cards on the PayUBiz Payment Gateway, because this option attracts least Surcharge.
The differences are:

1. The PayUBiz and the PayUMoney Payment Gateways charge different rates of Payment Gateway Surcharge/Convenience Fee for their services. Please see the related question about the rates of their charges.

2. PayUBiz offers facility for International Credit Card and International Debit Card payments, as well as India-based Bank Accounts/Cards, whereas PayUMoney offers facility for India-based Accounts/Cards only.

3. PayUMoney needs a separate login ID; this ID can be created instantly and quickly by the first-time users of the PayUMoney Payment Gateway. If the Guest has a previously existng PayUMoney Login ID, that Login ID can be used.

Transaction Surcharge (also called as Convenience Fee) for using the PayUBiz Payment Gateway



The below Transaction Surcharge, inclusive of Taxes, is applicable for bookings made through our website pemathang.net (http://pemathang.net) using the PayUBiz Payment Gateway.

India-based Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Maestro) from all Banks

0.855% for Transaction Value upto INR 2000 and 1.14% for Transaction Value above INR 2000.

India-based Visa / Mastercard / Diners Credit Cards

2.28% of the Transaction Value.

India-based NetBanking

2.28% of the Transaction Value.

International Credit Card or International Debit Card

2.28% of the Transaction Value plus INR 6.84 (six Indian Rupees and eighty four Indian Paise only).

India-based American Express Cards

3.42% of the Transaction Value.



The below Transaction Surcharge, inclusive of Taxes, is applicable for bookings made through our website pemathang.net (http://pemathang.net) using the PayUMoney Payment Gateway.




India-based Credit Cards / Debit Cards / Net Banking

2.33% of the Transaction Value.
International Cards (either International Credit Cards or International Debit Cards) are accepted only through the PayUBiz Payment Gateway. Please choose this option for making payment.
If the Guest opts to pay through the PayUMoney Payment Gateway, then on the PayUMoney Payment Gateway webpage, the Guest is requested to quickly create a PayUMoney Login ID, when they are using the PayUMoney Payment Gateway for the first time ever.

Previous users of the PayUMoney Payment Gateway can use their pre-existing PayUMoney Login ID to make payments through our website pemathang.net.
Each Payment Gateway, is a software product of its owned Company. The Payment Gateway owner might contact the Guest, for purely obtaining consent from the Guest for the release of funds paid by the Guest, to Pema Thang Guest House's bank account.

When Guests opt to use the PayUMoney Gateway, the confirmation voucher email that is sent by Pema Thang Guest House to the Guest's email account, is submitted by Pema Thang Guest House to the PayUMoney Payment Gateway company, for Release of funds paid by the Guest. In case PayUMoney company requests consent from the Guest for the Release of funds, kindly oblige the PayUMoney Payment Gateway by accepting to the Release of the funds.

If, for any reason, the Guest House does not receive the booking deposit 15 days prior to your check-in date, your booking cannot be guaranteed. In case of group, the booking deposit should be received by the Guest House one month prior to the check-in date.
Booking Deposit can be made through Cash at the Reception or through Cheques or Demand Draft or Online Transfer to our Bank Account; please E-Mail us at booking@pemathang.net (or) pemathangguesthouse@gmail.com for details of the bank transfer.
To guarantee your booking, 100% of the Room Tariff for the first day and 50% for subsequent days are requested as a booking deposit (for each room in case of booking more than one). If the Guest wishes to pay the total amount, it shall be accepted.
E-Mail Room Bookings are made only through e-mailing booking@pemathang.net (or) pemathangguesthouse@gmail.com. E-Mail Cancellation of a confirmed booking are made only through e-mailing booking@pemathang.net (or) pemathangguesthouse@gmail.com, from the same E-Mail ID through which the Room Booking had been made; or in person at the Reception Desk of Pema Thang Guest House, by producing the Identity Proof.
